GENERAL FAQs

How long is the contract for?

Your initial contract is for 12 months (i.e. 12 monthly payments or 1 annual payment). After that, you are required to give 30 days’ notice of your intention to cancel your In Van Wi-Fi subscription or you will enter a further “season” contract so please see our terms and conditions for further details

Is the system secure?

Yes, as you’ll have your own network and unique password security is not an issue.

I’ve had issues with onsite/outdoor Wi-Fi before.

You’ll now have your own dedicated connection and personal router, like you would in your home. You have a far stronger connection as the router you are connecting to is right inside the caravan. You can stream films, play games and connect many devices with no data restrictions .

Do I have to pay the subscription fee when the park is closed?

The data charges are seasonal and worked out in conjunction with park opening.

Can I connect my Sky Glass?

If you are using a Hotspot / Voucher network, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to reliably connect this device.

If you are using our Direct to Van service then yes however you are likely to require the Superfast Package.

We have a mobile caravan, can it be installed?

No, as the equipment needs to be aligned with the Access Points around the parks and the equipment is configured to only work on the site it has been installed on. If you have a Static Tourer yes we can assist you.

Can I just buy the equipment and fit it myself?

Unfortunately not, each piece of our equipment required to be configured and set up correctly in order to give you the best possible No, the equipment needs to be fitted by one of our experienced engineers to ensure that the equipment is installed correctly and is working properly.

I already have my own Wi-Fi equipment such as booster; can I use this?

No, the DTV Wi-Fi system requires specific equipment to provide this service – you cannot use an existing Wi-Fi booster.

Which package is right for me?

Depending on your usage and requirements, Standard is fine for Streaming TV services, surfing the internet etc up to 6 devices at once. If you wish to game, want to run multiple devices or watch 4K then you may require Superfast, our network is typically “low latency” meaning that it is ideal for gaming.  Should you wish to discuss this further or have any questions, you can contact our support team on 01423 295001 for advice.

What speeds and how much data will I get?

This will depend on which package you choose and the availability on your Park.

We have 2 available packages Standard where you receive 15-20mbps download and 5mbps upload. With our Superfast package you can receive 25-30mbps download and 10mbps upload.

ORDER & INSTALLATION FAQS

How much does it cost?

The cost comes in two parts

1) The standard installation fee is £199*. This is a one-off charge and will be taken when we process your order.

2) The subscription cost depends on which package you choose. We provide Standard and Superfast Packages, these can be paid for the full season (£199 & £260 respectfully) or broken down into Monthly payments (£19.90 & £26 respectfully)**.  This is only charged once your installation is complete.

* Some parks have no installation costs due to the site’s infrastructure, on some parks the charge is a little higher, you will be informed of this when we process your order.

** Some parks costs are slightly different from the above, please contact LPIS for further details.

Who can I contact if I have any questions or queries after the installation?

Our support team is based in the UK, so you can contact them either by phone on 01423 295001 or via email @ support@lpis-uk.com

What will my finished DTV installation look like?

The engineer will fix an antenna to the outside of your van, and then hard-wire that to your personal router, which will be located near your TV.

They will also leave a ‘Welcome to Direct to Van Service Wi-Fi’ leaflet giving you guidance on how to connect your devices to your Direct to Van Service Wi-Fi service.

Outside Van – Receiver/Loco

Inside Van – Router/Cube

What happens during the installation?

Our engineer will arrive on the scheduled day and he will require access to your accommodation. Depending upon the infrastructure on your site, the engineer will affix an antenna to the outside of your home, then hard-wire that to your personal router inside placed near your TV. If your site has underground cables already in place, your router will be connected to those instead of an external antenna.

Only once your installation is complete will you be asked for your data payment up front yearly or monthly/Direct Debit, then your subscription billing will start.

Do I have to be at my holiday home for the installation?

No, as long as you’re content for the engineer to pick up keys from reception, we’ll pick them up, fit your new system and leave you any login details and return the keys.

How long does it take for the engineer to install the equipment?

The installation will take about an hour, once all fitted our engineer will ensure your system is up and running and leave you any login details.

How will I know when you are coming to carry out the installation?

One of our support centre team will contact you the week before your planned installation to identify if you’ll be in the van or wish us to pick up the keys from reception with your permission.

How long after I’ve placed an order will the installation take?

We endeavour to carry out installations as soon as possible, we state a minimum of 3 weeks and maximum of 5 weeks depending on our engineer availability from the date we process your order, during peak times this lead time could vary.

How can I order?

You can call us direct on 01423 295001 or email us @ sales@lpis-uk.com and leave us your contact details, we’ll get back in touch as soon as possible to go over the next steps and clarify any questions you may have.
